SUFICADEMIC. Film “Lafran” diputar di gedung Balai Meuseuraya Aceh (BMA). Ribuan siswa dari sekolah menengah atas dan kejuruan (SMA/SMK) se Kota Banda terlihat sangat menikmati film bertemakan keislaman, keindonesiaan dan kepahlawanan tersebut. Sebagian terlihat meneteskan air mata.
Lafran adalah film biografi Indonesia tahun 2024 yang disutradarai oleh Faozan Rizal. Turut dibintangi oleh Dimas Anggara, Mathias Muchus dan Tanta Ginting. Lafran tayang perdana di bioskop Indonesia pada 20 Juni 2024.
Lafran adalah seorang pemikir idealis dan juga pejuang visioner, yang menyatukan pemikiran keislaman dan keindonesiaan. Selain menekankan militansi dalam berjuang, sosok yang sangat humble ini menggagas sikap moderat dalam berpikir dan bertindak. Bersama teman-temannya, pada tahun 1947 ia mendirikan Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI), yang kini menjadi organisasi mahasiswa Islam tertua dan terbesar di Indonesia.

Lafran lahir di Padang Sidempuan pada 5 Februari 1922. Lama berkarir sebagai akademisi, ia wafat di Jogyakarta pada 25 Januari 1991. Dua pujangga ternama Indonesia, Sanusi sang penyair dan Armijn Pane sang novelis, adalah abang kandungnya.
Atas jasa-jasanya, pada 6 November 2017 Lafran dianugerahi gelar “Pahlawan Nasional Indonesia” oleh Presiden Republik Indonesia. Film “Lafran” yang berdurasi 1 jam 39 menit ditayangkan untuk mempromosikan nilai-nilai kejuangan, keislaman dan keindonesiaan yang ia perjuangkan bagi mahasiswa Indonesia.
Kegiatan pemutaran film Lafran difasilitasi lewat program “Bincang-Bincang Budaya Sinema” dari Kementerian Kebudayaan RI, dibawah Direktorat Film, Musik dan Seni (FMS). Program ini mendorong lahirnya film-film berkualitas Indonesia yang sarat pesan untuk pengembangan karakter dan budaya.*****
