MINGGU dini hari, 31/8/2025. Rumah Sri Mulyani Indrawati dijarah massa. SMI bukan orang biasa. Ia menteri keuangan. Simbol penting. Tokoh sentral dalam tata kelola kekayaan negara.
Ia disebut-sebut anak emas World Bank, orang kepercayaan IMF dan berbagai kelompok penghutang lainnya. Karena itu media menyebutnya menteri kelas dunia. Dunia barat tepatnya. Ia sangat disiplin. Disiplin dalam menerapkan formula-formula Amerika.
Amerikanisasi Indonesia memang sudah berlangsung sejak awal orde baru bertahta. Ekonom-ekonom kita disekolahkan kesana. Mereka pulang lalu menjadi juru bicara ide-ide Amerika. Amerika saat itu memang lagi hit di panggung dunia. Mereka coba masuk ke semua negara. “Confession of an Economic Hitman” (2004) termasuk salah satu yang terbaik untuk memahami bagaimana proses ini terlaksana.
Kenapa rumahnya terjarah, tidak terjaga? Apa pesannya?
Indonesia seperti mulai bermain pada poros berbeda. Indonesia bukan lagi sepenuhnya pelayan Barat. Kepentingan Barat tidak lagi menjadi prioritas utama. Aset mereka tidak lagi terjamin keamanannya. Pun orang kepercayaan mereka tidak lagi terjaga. Kira-kira begitu pesannya.
Mungkin karena itu pula Sri Mulyani diganti, setelah 20 tahun bertugas. Itu diumumkan tidak lama setelah Prabowo pulang dari Cina (Senin, 8/9/2025). Prabowo awalnya tidak ingin ke Tiongkok, untuk hadir pada parade besar militer mereka (Rabu, 3/9/2025). Sebab, demo di Indonesia sedang memanas. Paska meninggalnya Affan Kurniawan saat demo di DPR RI (Kamis 28/8/2025), situasi negara semakin tidak menentu. Tapi ada hal yang tak kalah genting, yang kelihatannya membuat Presiden harus terbang ke Cina.
Diberhentikannya SMI seolah-olah membawa pesan baru. Indonesia sudah jenuh dengan Barat. Hutang terus menumpuk. Sumberdaya alam habis disedot, dengan kontrak-kontrak yang tak masuk akal. Indonesia menuju bangkrut. Dominasi barat mungkin coba dikurangi. Menteri kepercayaan mereka di-off-kan.
Tidak mudah menceraikan barat. Apalagi kalau tidak punya beking kuat. Mungkin keberanian Prabowo muncul setelah melihat wajah “cool” Xi Jinping. Mungkin juga setelah melihat sorot tajam mata Putin. Dua negara ini sudah memperlihatkan bagaimana cara menggebuk barat, menggebuk Amerika. Amerika memang dimana-mana lagi kehilangan pengaruhnya. Lagi dibenci karena suka berperang dan sikap kasarnya.
Alhasil, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa (PYS) diangkat jadi menteri. Tak ada yang tau siapa dia. Bukan orang terkenal. Orang-orang mulai searching untuk melacak latar belakangnya. Rupanya lulusan S1 Elektro ITB, yang mendalami S2 dan S3 bidang ekonomi di Purdue University, Amerika.
Sampai hari ini, ekonom Indonesia rata-rata memang didikan Amerika. Kelihatannya semua ilmu ekonomi telah diajari oleh Amerika. Kecuali ilmu sukses dan berani. Karena itu ekonom kita terlihat cerdas-cerdas. Tapi tidak tau bagaimana cara membuat bangsa ini mandiri dan sukses. Kita ditakuti, lalu dipaksakan untuk ngutang.
Ini pula yang ditanya saat rapat di DPR RI ke Purbaya (Rabu, 8/9/2025), “Gimana cara lunasin hutang sebesar 1500 trilyun yang akan jatuh tempo”. Kita tidak tau apa persisnya jawaban Purbaya. Tapi logika retoris para netizen yang tersebar di medsos membuat semua orang tersenyum, “korupsi 3000 trilyun aja bisa, masa bayar utang 1500 trilyun gak bisa”.
Pak Purbaya pandai membuat dirinya viral. Dua hari menjabat langsung terkenal. Bukan karena prestasi. Tapi ucapan ceplas ceplosnya yang memancing emosi. Dia minta maaf. Lalu mulai memperbaiki gaya komunikasi. Tapi paling tidak, ia telah terkenal. Menjadi menteri paling terkenal dalam minggu-minggu ini.
Selanjutnya ia mulai membangun kepercayaan publik. Mulai ngomong di DPR dengan poin-poin kritis (Rabu, 8/9/2025). Ia mulai terlihat cerdas, dengan cara memahami situasi. Ia mulai membangun harapan. Langsung dengan gebrakan penyaluran uang. Sebesar 200 trilyun dana cash BI akan disebar ke lima bank BUMN (Jumat, 12/8/2025). Tujuannya macam-macam. Mungkin untuk diakses pelaku usaha.
Yang jelas, kebanyakan kita bukan ahli ekonomi. Kita tidak tau apa yang sedang direncanakan Purbaya, eks ketua dewan komisioner Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan (LPS) ini. Kita tidak tau apa yang akan dia lakukan untuk Indonesia pada tahun-tahun mendatang. Tidak ada jaminan akan lebih baik. Setidaknya, wajah baru kepemimpinan kementerian keuangan membawa harapan baru. Ditengah ketidakpastian ekonomi.
Kita tidak tau apakah Indonesia dengan 1001 masalahnya akan menjadi lebih baik di bawah Purbaya. Tidak ada jaminan untuk itu. Sekilas Purbaya terlihat seperti suka bagi-bagi uang, agar ekonomi berjalan. Beda dengan SMI yang ketat dalam urusan pengeluaran. Tapi yang jelas, kebanyakan kita sudah jenuh dengan Indonesia yang terus berhutang. Yang semakin terhimpit ekonomi rakyatnya. Yang terus dipajakin negara. Yang pendapatan masyarakat semakin menurun nilainya.
Belum lagi mental pejabat kita yang semakin kasar dan bebal. Makin hedon. Mungkin karena lama hidup mewah tanpa koreksi. Mungkin karena terlalu lama hidup nyaman tanpa diinterupsi. Rakyat pun mulai marah. Lalu meledaklah demo besar di penghujung Agustus 2025. Kalau terus begitu, Indonesia semakin runyam. Untung cepat diredam. Jika tidak, gaya Gen-Z Nepal mungkin akan berjalan. Pejabat dikejar. Rumahnya dibakar.
Kita rakyat memang tidak begitu mengerti hukum-hukum ekonomi. Baik rumus fiskal Sri Mulyani maupun strategi keuangan Purbaya. Kita semua hanya ingin satu hal. Indonesia harus melakukan perubahan mendasar. Indonesia harus direset ulang. Indonesia harus maju. Tentu dengan cara-cara baru. Sebab, cara lama mirip-mirip gagal.
Konon kabarnya, Pak Prabowo punya semangat untuk itu. Ia punya mental negarawan. Ia punya latar keluarga dengan ide-ide besar. Katanya, ia sedang mewujudkan visi “Sumitronomics”, sosok yang juga kuat mengkritik ekonomi Indonesia di akhir orde baru. Prabowo ingin Indonesia mandiri. Ia juga ingin membawa Indonesia ke poros Timur. Ia ingin Indonesia terintegrasi dengan kekuatan dunia baru, BRICS.
Apakah akan berhasil?
Mungkin saja berhasil. Tapi tantangannya tetap satu: korupsi!
Rumus apapun yang dipakai, malaikat sekalipun yang jadi menteri, kondisi tidak akan berubah. Kalau korupsi masih menjadi “invisible hand” dalam ekonomi. Kalau reformasi pemerintahan tidak mengarah kepada perilaku efisien, sederhana dan rendah hati, Indonesia ditangan Prabowo akan berlanjut menuju jurang kematian.
Beberapa gebrakan di awal Pemerintahan sudah menunjukkan semangat perbaikan. Prabowo berani mengejar Riza Chalid, godfather Pertamina yang tidak berani disentuh oleh para presiden terdahulu. Kalau usaha mengejar koruptor terus digencarkan, sambil terus menata hukum dan kelembagaan; harapan Indonesia menjadi lebih baik mulai terbuka. Kasihan rakyat terus dipajakin. Sementara BUMN tidak menyetor profit yang make sense.
Undang-undang perampasan aset dan penataan profesionalisme kepolisian mungkin termasuk dua hal paling krusial. Masyarakat sangat menginginkan penegakan hukum berjalan adil dan transparan. Negara kita kaya, tapi rakyatnya tidak semakin sejahtera. Ini akibat buruknya mental aparat, pejabat dan juga kita semua. Jika ruang kesadaran ini bisa diperbaiki, kita akan menjadi bangsa yang jauh berbeda.
